Exhibition Documents

These documents are required for the Capstone Exhibition.

process and submission:

 

1)    TITLE CARD TEXT

Title and info about your art project and a short artist statement related to your Art Thesis Project (100-150 words) See artist statement examples on D2L.

Title card text requirements
Artist Name (your professional name as you want it to appear in exhibition)

Title of Work
Year
Media (NOTE: Do not list “digital media,” “jpg,” “photoshop” etc. as your media. Use the final format i.e. if it's printed say “inkjet print,” if it's projected say “digital projection,” etc. Check out how established artists or museums list this information.)
Dimensions in inches (W x H for 2D work; W x D x H for 3D work)
NOTE: time-based work includes duration or “runtime” usually in
hours, minutes, and seconds as appropriate – ex: 3 minutes 12 seconds)
Artist statement (100-150 words)

Save as a .DOC (preferred) or .PDF and upload to D2L “Exhibition Documents Drafts” folder.

 



2)    CONTACT / INSTALLATION FORM

Complete the related form on D2L.

Save as a .JPG or .PDF and upload to D2L “Exhibition Documents DRAFTS” folder.

For the final artwork install, please print out your form and tape it next to the work.

 

 

 

3)    POSTCARD

1) Place your work in the Photoshop template located on D2L (under D2L > Content > Required Course Content > Exhibition Documents)

2) Size your image so that it fits (consider if you want a border around the work or if you want a full bleed image).

3) When finished, go to the top menu bar in Photoshop and across to “LAYER” then scroll all the way down to “flatten image”

4) Save the image as a .PDF choose “Press Quality” preset, uncheck include layers

5) For the back of the postcard include the following (see descriptions above):

6) Upload DRAFT files to D2L “Exhibition Document Drafts”
Upload FINAL print-ready files to OneDrive
