Your Work and Responding
critique posting
and responding (3 parts):
Posting work for critique should be
complete by the start of class on the projects due date. Early posting is
allowable.
PART 1 - Please submit the
following to the appropriate project D2L Submission folder for my review:
1) A good quality, well-lit photo of one (1) of your limited edition prints
2) A good quality, well-lit detail photo of one of your limited
edition prints
3) A decent quality photo of all 3+ of your limited
edition prints together (they can be pinned/taped to a wall, or
even on the floor/ground,
etc.)
4) Good quality, well-lit photos of at least three (3) of your experimental set of works as three individual photos
5) A good quality, well-lit detail photo of one of your experimental
set of works
6) A decent quality photo of all 8+ of your experimental
set of works together
NOTE: I should be able to see evidence of 2 plates/designs within the
submission of work, if it is not clear, please explain in writing or with
additional photos so I can understand better.
NOTE: Good quality cell phone or similar photographs are appropriate.
Please see information on our site regarding photographing work if you have any
questions.
NOTE: Grading criteria are listed in the project assignment.
PART 2 - Please submit the
following as a Ònew threadÓ in the appropriate critique D2L Discussion Board
for peer review and critique (each student should make their own thread of
images so the comments can be placed with the appropriate works; it is helpful
to provide a thread title that matches the artwork; please place items in
numerical order so it is clear which is which):
1) A brief statement
describing what your works are about or
what they are responding to. You may also include an optional statement
describing elements that went well or that were challenging during the process
(see this example
from another class).
2) A good quality, well-lit photo of one (1) of your limited edition prints (same as above)
3) Good quality, well-lit photos of at least three (3) of your experimental set of works as three individual photos (same as
above)
4) A decent quality photo of all 8+ of your experimental
set of works together (same as above)
5) Optional: any additional photos of your choosing that
might help you get the feedback you need to improve or
figure something out.
PART 3 - Responding and
providing feedback during the critique:
1) Each person should provide feedback on at least 5 other classmatesÕ work. Lets
make sure everyone gets feedback!
2) Feedback may begin 10 min after class has started on
the assignment due date (at 2:50pm CST) and may continue for 48 hours to allow scheduling
flexibility, and ends two days later at 2:50pm.
3) If you have the ability, it would be great to see a
critical mass of folks participating on the discussion boards from 2:50-5:25pm
CST on the due date so there can be reciprocal feedback and true discussion.
in-progress feedback
posting and responding (2 parts):
Posting work for in-progress
feedback should be complete by the start of class on the in-progress due date.
Early posting is allowable.
NOTE: In-progress feedback is different from (and in
addition to) the Weekly
Snapshot, which is less formalized and designed to keep me in
the loop with your work so I can see how we are progressing as a group.
PART 1 - Please submit the
following as a Ònew threadÓ in the appropriate In-Progress D2L Discussion Board
for feedback:
1) A brief statement
describing what your works are about or
what they are responding to, where you are in the process (this is in-progress
and folks will be all over in the sketching, testing, revising, making,
printing, etc. process), and what is going well or not so far. Also feel free
to ask questions or ask for suggestions.
2) Two or more
photos that show what you are doing.
These may be photos of works or plates or sketches or your setup, etc.
PART 2 - Responding and
providing feedback:
1) Each person should provide feedback on at least 2 other classmatesÕ work. Lets
make sure everyone gets feedback!
2) Feedback may begin 10 min after class has started on
the assignment due date (at 2:50pm CST) and may continue for 48 hours to allow scheduling
flexibility, and ends two days later at 2:50pm.
NOTE: Contact me if you have any questions in general
or about these processes!
